This 1997
exhibition garden explores various characteristics which water may
adopt-joyful and sparkling, bright and reflective, splashing and
gurgling, dark and deep.
Lighting is an important element. At night, light catches water
sliding over glass weirs, throwing dancing shadows and reflections
on to the wall behind. Glowing glass rods, inspired by the idea
of striped grasses, emerge from the planting.
Cream concrete flags and blocks are teamed with copper and glass
in the sunny part of the garden, while granite and slate
are reserved to echo the darker mood of the shade plantings.
